Lookers has been announced as the Official Vehicle Partner of “Run The Nations”, a monumental 270-mile running challenge undertaken by Cure Leukaemia CEO James McLaughlin.
Taking place over 14 consecutive days, the challenge will see James visit all 29 blood cancer centres that receive funding from Cure Leukaemia across the UK. This feat is not only a physical and mental test, but a powerful show of commitment to the patients, staff, and clinical teams that drive the charity’s mission forward.
Lookers, one of the UK’s leading automotive retail and aftersales groups, will provide essential on-the-road support, supplying a vehicle to help James travel between stages and aiding his recovery after each day’s effort.
James added: “This is without a doubt the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on and having Lookers on board as our Official Vehicle Partner means everything — not only to help me reach each of our 29 centres on time, but to ensure I can rest and recover properly between runs. Their support is instrumental in making this challenge a success and I’m incredibly grateful.”
Lookers’ support builds on a longstanding partnership with Cure Leukaemia, which has included their continued involvement in the London 2 Paris cycling event and other major fundraising initiatives.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be supporting James on his inspiring Run The Nations challenge,” said Kirk Gill, Market Area Director at Lookers. “Cure Leukaemia is a charity close to our hearts, and we’ve been proud to stand alongside them over the years. This challenge is a phenomenal undertaking, and we’re thrilled to be playing our part in helping James achieve it.”
Run The Nations will raise vital funds and awareness for Cure Leukaemia’s work across the country, through funding of specialist Research Nurses and bringing hope to thousands affected by blood cancer, to find new and less toxic treatments through clinical trials.
Aiming to raise £100,000, you can support Run The Nations through becoming a stage sponsor or running alongside James for a full or 5k loop on each stage.
