A dedicated team from Evelyn Partners, the UK’s leading integrated wealth management firms, takes on the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run in support of Cure Leukaemia.
A team of 14 colleagues from the firm’s Birmingham office at 103 Colmore Row have signed up in force, with the team split across the 10km and Half Marathon courses, pushing their physical limits to raise vital funds for blood cancer research.
While the atmosphere on race day is famously electric, for one runner, Tom, the motivation is personal. Tom is running in memory of someone close to him who lost their battle with the disease. His journey to the finish line is fuelled by the hope that the funds raised will prevent other families from enduring the same heartbreak.
“Seeing the detrimental effect it had on her family both before and after losing her has compelled me and the rest of the team to support such a great cause” Tom said.
The Great Birmingham Run is the Midlands’ flagship running event, and the Evelyn Partners team will be joining thousands of others, including those directly impacted by blood cancer.
James McLaughlin, CEO of Cure Leukaemia, expressed his gratitude for the firm’s significant involvement:
“We are delighted that the Evelyn Partners team are lacing up their trainers to #RunForACure and will be running alongside blood cancer patients, families, and fellow supporters on Sunday. Each of those running for Cure Leukaemia will make a genuine difference to those affected by blood cancer, and having such a prominent local employer support us in this way is truly inspiring.”
The race, which starts and finishes in the heart of the city centre, will see the Evelyn Partners runners pass iconic landmarks as they contribute to the charity’s mission of funding clinical trials networks across the UK that allow patients across the UK to access pioneering treatments that are not yet available through standard care.
As the countdown to Sunday begins, the Evelyn Partners team remains focused on their goals of crossing the finish line and hitting their ambitious fundraising targets for a cause that touches so many lives.
If you and your organisation want to join Team Cure Leukaemia and support blood cancer patients, we’d love you to get involved in one of our upcoming events.
