Blood Cancer and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2025

September is a hugely significant month in the fight against cancer. It marks both Blood Cancer Awareness Month and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – a time to come together, reflect, and take action in support of the thousands of people whose lives are affected every day.

Blood cancer is the UK’s fifth most common cancer and tragically the third biggest cancer killer. Globally, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer every 27 seconds – a stark reminder of why awareness and funding are so vital.

At Cure Leukaemia, we are committed to transforming the treatment and care of patients by funding specialist research nurses across the UK. These roles connect patients to pioneering clinical trials, providing access to potentially life-saving treatments that would not otherwise be available. Without this crucial funding, many patients would face fewer options and reduced hope for the future.

But we can’t do this alone – and this September, we need your help.

How you can make a difference this month:
Move The Nations

Take part in our Move The Nations challenge and get active in September. Whether you run, walk, swim, or cycle, every minute contributes to raising awareness and vital funds for Cure Leukaemia. We’re aiming to move for a collective 96,000 minutes – the number of people who will be told they have blood cancer during the month. It’s a great way to make your efforts count while showing solidarity with those facing blood cancer.

Raising awareness is just as important as raising funds. Share information about blood cancer on social media, talk to your family and friends, and use your voice to highlight why September matters. The more people know, the greater the impact we can make together.

This September, let’s stand united for all those affected by blood cancer and childhood cancers. With your support, Cure Leukaemia can continue to offer hope, fund life-saving research, and work towards a future where fewer lives are lost.

Join us this month. Together, we can change the odds.
