Birmingham

Thousands of Brummies pound the streets every year to rise to the challenge of the AJ Bell Great Birmingham by tackling their half marathon or the 10K. There’s everything you’d expect from a Great Run – notorious start line hype, top en-route entertainment and an event village that feels more like an after-party!

Why Run for Cure Leukaemia?

In Birmingham, the fight against blood cancer is happening right on our doorstep. Every mile you run and every pound you raise goes directly toward funding pioneering Research Nurses and Clinical Trials across the region.

By joining our team, you are directly powering life-saving clinical trials across the city, from world-leading adult research at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital to the pioneering ATICUS Network at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Your miles fund the specialist Research Nurses essential to delivering these medical breakthroughs, providing patients of all ages in Birmingham with access to the latest treatments and a real hope for a cure.

Without this funding, these trials simply cannot happen. You aren’t just running a race; you are providing the gift of time and hope to patients in Birmingham.
