London to Barcelona 2025

Over the past 20 years, Tim Marshall has taken part in 11 major events, including Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride, climbed Kilimanjaro, the Amsterdam marathon, London to Paris cycle ride 5 times, the Dragon Ride, and Tour 21, which for the last 10 years has raised crucial funds for Cure Leukaemia. His fundraising journey began after the tragic loss of a close friend, motivating him to take on these incredible challenges in support of blood cancer research.

In 2025, Tim will embark on his 12th challenge – cycling from London to Barcelona. This 11-day adventure, will take him from London to Barcelona, covering over 1,000km across the UK, France, and Spain. The route will pass through some of the most scenic and challenging landscapes in Europe, including rolling hills and rugged mountain terrains.

What makes this event particularly special is that each of the 11 days of cycling will be dedicated to one of the 11 ATICUS Centres across the UK. On each day, Tim will focus on the work being done at that centre and the patients it serves, cycling with a particular centre and patient in mind. This will help raise awareness of the vital research and treatment taking place at these centres, which are crucial in the fight against blood cancer globally.

This incredible journey will not only test Tim’s endurance but will also raise much-needed funds and awareness for Cure Leukaemia’s ongoing research into blood cancers across the globe.

Tim is asking for your support as he takes on this remarkable challenge. Your donations will directly support The ATICUS Network, which connects prominent hospitals like Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The network enables young patients across the UK to access world-first stem cell transplant trials, giving children living with blood cancer access to potentially life-saving treatments through national clinical trial infrastructure. The ATICUS Network seeks to end this postcode lottery, ensuring that every child, regardless of where they live, has an equal opportunity to participate in life-saving trials. The ATICUS Network will cost £1 million per year to ensure its success and sustainability in providing this crucial service for children. The £1 million is essential to drive the network’s mission forward and deliver these life-saving opportunities to every child in need.
