Wow, what a month September turned out to be!

30 days packed full of fundraising and awareness building for the charity across the UK. We have only had chance to breathe now! Let’s take a look back at the month and recap some of our favourite parts:

The team at Belfast Hospital kicked off Blood Cancer Awareness Month by climbing the stairs of the iconic Belfast City Hospital Tower fourteen times to raise funds for the charity – raising over £1,200 along the way.

We were welcomed into Solihull Moors Football Club for the day for their fixture against Oxford City. We saw an entertaining 2-2 and raised over £1,300 from the day.

We unveiled our team of nine runners who will take to the streets of the capital in 2024 as they tackle the London Marathon to raise funds for the charity.

Andrea Childs spent the day with PwC in Birmingham to help de-seed sunflowers in preparation for next years sales. In total throughout the day, the team successfully collected 60,000 seeds which weighed approx. 4kg!

We had a keen team of runners take part in the Great North Run, with Amy Cotter flying the flag for Cure Leukaemia after her cousin was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Kate Maher was successful in her WORLD RECORD attempt at the Berlin Marathon. Kate successfully completed the fastest marathon dressed as a hospital patient (female) in a fantastic time of 3 hours, 37 minutes, 20 seconds.

We unveiled the newest Cure Leukaemia Research Nurse to our growing team, as we welcomed Denise Bennett to the team at Blackpool Teaching Hospital, proudly funded by family-owned grocers, Booths, for the next two years.

Sneaking in at the end of the month, two of the Clinical Team from the University Hospital of Wales, took part in the Cardiff Marathon to raise funds for the charity.

We announced Worcestershire and England Fast Bowler Josh Tongue as the latest Ambassador for the charity.

Hutchesons’ Grammar School ran a fundraising weekend designed around the number 13 – to reflect that every 13 minutes, a child is diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer in the UK. The weekend was a tremendous success and raised over £30,000

Last, and by no means least, the Tour of the TAP cycled and ran its way across the country and raised over £150,000 for the charity!
