More than £250,000 raised for Cure Leukaemia as 19 women complete 1,175km along Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift Route
19 women have completed 1,175km along the Tour de Femmes avec Zwift route raising over £250,000 for blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia.
Among the riders were women cycling for loved ones who are living with or who they have lost to the disease, as well as clinical doctors who see first-hand how important finding new trials and cures for the disease is.
The Route in partnership with VeloViewer, is Cure Leukaemia’s flagship all-female event, which saw the women set off from Lausanne in Switzerland and finish in Nice, to cover the same route, exactly a day before the professionals taking on Tour de Femmes avec Zwift.
The team of riders are given a pro-like experience with support crews, including travelling on a team bus, moto-outriders, sports therapists, mechanics, catering and logistics, meaning the riders can remain focussed on turning the pedals to complete each stage.
The Route started in 2024 when only 5 trailblazing riders from the UK took part and raised just over £50k, has now grown to 19 riders and raised over a quarter of a million pounds.
The women who took part this year were from 6 continents and so it really has turned into a global event that has now raised over £440,000 since 2024.
The money raised from the incredible fundraising efforts of the women is going towards accelerating the opening of The ATICUS Network, made up of 12 leading children’s hospitals in the UK, which will bring new and less toxic treatments to children diagnosed with blood cancer, which otherwise wouldn’t be available to them.
