Whether you’re a seasoned runner or lacing up for the first time, this is your chance to secure entry to the North West’s biggest running event — and run it for a cause that truly matters. We have a limited number of guaranteed charity places available for both the 10K and Half Marathon on Sunday 31st May 2026. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

How to Get a Place in the Great Manchester Run 2026
With the public ballot now closed, the only remaining route into the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is through a charity. Cure Leukaemia has secured a limited allocation of places across both distances, available exclusively to our supporters. allowing you to take part in an epic running challenge while also raising money for Leukaemia!

The entry fee depends on the route you choose but for both options, your entry fee includes:

£15 entry fee | £200 Minimum Fundraising
Open to runners aged 15 and over. Perfect for first-timers and seasoned runners alike.
Manchester Half Marathon
£30 entry fee | £350 Minimum Fundraising
Open to runners aged 17 and over. Take on 13.1 miles through the heart of the city.

In Manchester, the fight against blood cancer is happening right on our doorstep. Every mile you run and every pound you raise goes directly toward funding pioneering Research Nurses and Clinical Trials across the city.
By joining our team, you are directly powering life-saving clinical trials across the city, from world-leading adult research at The Christie and the Royal Manchester Infirmary to the pioneering ATICUS Network at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Your miles fund the specialist Research Nurses essential to delivering these medical breakthroughs, providing patients of all ages in Manchester with access to the latest treatments and a real hope for a cure.
Without this funding, these trials simply cannot happen. You aren’t just running a race; you are providing the gift of time and hope to patients in Manchester.
what to expect on race day
The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is one of the most electric events in the UK running calendar. With 35,000 runners taking to the streets, live music, entertainment zones and the unmistakable roar of Mancunian crowd support, this is a race day experience like no other.
The Manchester 10k Route
The Great Manchester 10K is where the city comes alive. The iconic route through Manchester is powered by pumping music, buzzing entertainment zones and unbeatable Mancunian crowd support. It’s loud, it’s electric, and it’s a party from start to finish.
Runners need to be 15 to take part so it’s perfect for those wanting to take part as a family or run their first 10k.
The Manchester Half Marathon Route
The Great Manchester Half Marathon is your chance to go further. Take on 13.1 miles through the heart of the city, cheered on by thousands of roaring supporters and driven by Manchester’s unstoppable spirit. This is a big-city race that demands grit and rewards it with an unforgettable finish.
Runners do need to be over 17 for this slightly more challenging route.

To secure a place with us, complete our online application including as much information as possible regarding your fundraising plans and how you will reach your fundraising target.
If you have an injury, please contact running@cureleukaemia.co.uk and let us know as soon as possible. We may be able to offer a deferral.
