This blood cancer awareness month, Joanna James is taking to her trainer bike to take on a series of Zwift challenges to help raise vital funds for Cure Leukaemia.

Throughout September, Joanna is planning on hosting several e-rides on Zwift, and the first of these events, “CRYO-GEN’s Jo Jo’s Weekend Funky Ride for Cure Leukaemia” will take place on Saturday 16th September 2023 at 10:30BST.

Joanna has chosen to take on this challenge during Blood Cancer Awareness Month to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia after being diagnosed with the illness.

“This charity is close to my heart because when I was 37 and pregnant with my youngest, I was diagnosed with CLL. It has been an emotional journey to say the least, but I am lucky, in that my condition is still inactive. I have two boys of 8 and 11 and have quite a lot of loving and living to do yet so if I can help in any way to find a cure to help people like me, then I definitely will.
I hope to do another bigger personal challenge for the charity later in the year too.”

Joanna is encouraging anyone and everyone to come and join her on Zwift, and is asking for a £5 donation to join.

“I am a keen cyclist who leads social rides for Team CRYO-GEN on Zwift. I try to raise money for blood cancer charities each year with some kind of cycling challenge. This year I thought it’d be fun to use my contacts to run some Zwift rides through September, which is Blood Cancer Awareness month. So me and some of my friends and GOAT teamies are going to be hosting some fun Zwift rides this month, asking for a donation to Cure Leukaemia.
Come join me for a series of fun group cycle rides open to all cyclists on Zwift.
I hope to be bringing some fun, laughter and a blankety blank style quiz to your ride while raising some money for a cause very close to my heart.
Come join me and let’s paint Watopia PINK and RED. Wear and ride in your brightest gear!”
