Paris-Roubaix: A Challenge, a Cause, and an Unexpected Discovery
The unforgiving cobbles helped him realise something was wrong - the intense vibrations exposed issues in his neck that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.
As we mark International Women’s Day, Cure Leukaemia is proud to celebrate the extraordinary women who are making a difference in the fight against blood cancer. From world-class consultants and clinicians to dedicated Cure Leukaemia funded research nurses, inspiring patients and their families, passionate fundraisers, volunteers, and Cure Leukaemia 5 female employees, women play a pivotal role in our mission to support blood cancer patients and drive forward life-saving research.
This year, we are especially excited to see the growing number of women involved in our events, with a remarkable 45% of participants in the Paris Marathon being women. These women come from all corners of the globe, sharing a commitment to raise vital funds and awareness for blood cancer research. With 200 places available, this is a significant milestone for our organisation, and we are proud to see so many women taking part in the event. Want to join the women? Click here.
In addition to the Paris Marathon, we are also thrilled to highlight the incredible women taking part in The Route, a female-only cycling event that replicates the same route the professionals ride just one day later. Currently, 10 determined and inspiring women will be taking on this challenge to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia, showing the resilience and determination that defines the women in our community. These women are not only pushing themselves physically but also contributing to a cause that will make a lasting difference for blood cancer patients everywhere. Join the female team.
Women Leading the Charge in Research and Care
At Cure Leukaemia, women have always been at the forefront of our efforts to support blood cancer patients and drive scientific progress. Our female consultants, clinicians, and research nurses are working tirelessly to provide the best possible care for patients and ensure the continued advancement of groundbreaking research. Their dedication and expertise are instrumental in improving the lives of those affected by blood cancer.
The research nurses funded by Cure Leukaemia are a key part of our success, working closely with patients to deliver the highest level of care while also contributing to clinical trials that could lead to new treatments and, ultimately, cures. Their commitment to improving patient outcomes are invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for their work.
Patients and Families
Of course, the most inspiring women we celebrate today are blood cancer patients and their families. Their strength, courage, and determination in the face of adversity are nothing short of extraordinary. These women and girls demonstrate resilience every day as they navigate their cancer journeys, and their stories fuel the work we do at Cure Leukaemia.
We are privileged to support these incredible women and their families through their cancer journeys, providing them with not just medical care but also a community of hope and support.
The Role of Our Supporters and Volunteers
We would also like to extend our thanks to the many women who volunteer their time, energy, and passion to Cure Leukaemia. Whether it’s helping at events or raising awareness, their contributions are invaluable to our organisation.
Our female fundraisers, supporters, ambassadors, trustees and 5 female employees are key to the success of our mission. Their dedication and commitment to raising funds for blood cancer research and patient care are changing lives and inspiring others to get involved.
As we continue to empower and inspire women to take on challenges, fundraise, and raise awareness, we are proud to see the increasing participation of women in Cure Leukaemia’s events. We are committed to building an inclusive community where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to contribute to our shared mission of eradicating blood cancer.
On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who make Cure Leukaemia what it is. Thank you to the amazing women part of the Cure Leukaemia Family.
