The Principal of South & City College Birmingham, Mike Hopkins MBE, is once again getting on his bike to raise vital funds for Cure Leukaemia.

Leading a team of five riders, Mike is riding over 1,000 miles across Europe and over the mighty Pyrenees & finally across to Majorca.

Mike is an inspiration to everyone and over many years he has raised many thousands of pounds for charity – most notably completing all 21 stages of the Tour de France as part of The Tour 21, on behalf of Cure Leukaemia in 2021.

Mike and his team are riding for The President of The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, Nasir Awan, who has chosen Cure Leukaemia as his nominated Charity for his tenure of office.

“Most people who holiday in Majorca would shudder at the thought of riding there on a bike. But to raise money for such an amazing and needed cause as Cure Leukaemia requires something extraordinary. I am immensely proud to be supporting Nasir Awan the Chamber of Commerce President and his nominated charity and to be leading a team of cyclists for such a brilliant cause. I hope everyone will get behind us and help us raise the money”

We would like to once again thank Nasir for his ongoing support, and also to Pertemps who will be headline sponsoring the challenge along with Lioncroft Wholesale Ltd and Doug Wright MBE (CEO – McDonalds Franchisee of 26 restaurants) for their vital support – with many more coming onboard.

Mike will be joined along the way by several familiar faces to the charity including the likes of Jackie Fowler – who completed The Tour 21 in 2022, and Lee Gardner, who successfully complete the Tour of the TAP in September last year.

Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.

Mike and his team of cyclists are attempting to raise an incredible £20,000 for Cure Leukaemia.
