George Lineker, entrepreneur and long-time supporter of Cure Leukaemia, will once again take on the epic London 2 Paris cycling challenge this June, marking a decade since he first completed the ride in 2015, raising vital funds for Cure Leukaemia.

Diagnosed with leukaemia as a baby, George has spent much of his life championing the fight against blood cancer. Now, 10 years after his first ride, he’s returning to the saddle not only as a participant but also as a sponsor — his business, YourBusinessNumber, is backing the 2025 event, with the company’s logo proudly featured on the back of the official rider jerseys.

“I’m incredibly proud to be an ambassador for Cure Leukaemia and back riding London 2 Paris,” said George. “This ride means so much to me, and it’s an honour to have YourBusinessNumber supporting an event that’s so close to my heart. Cure Leukaemia has played a huge part in my life, and I’m determined to help them continue the fight against this disease.”

Cure Leukaemia, funds specialist research nurses and accelerating access to pioneering treatments, will also benefit later this year from a special initiative led by George’s father, former England footballer and broadcaster Gary Lineker OBE. In September, Gary will front Close To A Cure, with Gary Lineker, an event aimed at raising further awareness and funds, aligned to the ATICUS Network, a world first paediatric transplant trials network for children and families battling blood cancer, as he did with his son George.

The event takes place during Blood Cancer Awareness Month on 25th September and the Landmark Hotel in London. Gary has long been a patron of Cure Leukaemia and remains deeply committed to its mission.

With 200 riders expected to take part in this year’s four-day, 500km ride from London to the French capital, the event continues to be one of the most high-profile charity cycling challenges in the UK.

For George, it’s more than just a bike ride — it’s a powerful symbol of survival, hope, and the enduring bond between personal experience and purposeful action.
