About Cure Leukaemia

Based in Birmingham, Cure Leukaemia is a leading blood cancer charity that has seen considerable growth in recent years due to its commercially focused approach and outstanding commitment to innovation.

In 2017 the charity was selected to be one of the two Deutsche Bank’s national charities of the year 2018 & 2019 and now an amazing opportunity has arisen for the exciting new role of Head of Events.

The charity boasts incredible celebrity patronage, including former England footballer and leukaemia survivor Geoff Thomas, Michelin Starred chef Glynn Purnell and Broadcaster Adrian Chiles.

Other recognised supporters of the charity include England manager Gareth Southgate, Gary Lineker, Ben Foster, Will Carling, Ian Wright, Matthew Le Tissier and Jonathan Trott.

 

The Role

The suitable candidate will:

Have full P&L responsibility and ownership of the charity’s events calendar encouraging creative and dynamic thinking to stand out from the crowd.

Lead the implementation and development of national fundraising events and strategies used to maximise opportunities for income generation and sponsorship.
Manage the planning, budgeting, marketing and delivery of large scale national and regional events, working closely with Deutsche Bank and several of Cure Leukaemia’s corporate partners.

Strive to motivate a culture of innovation across Cure Leukaemia’s events portfolio, aiming to position the charity as a successful leader in the sector for exceptional event delivery.

The charity has exciting long-term plans and the role has considerable scope for growth and development as a result.

Who we’re looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic, creative self-starter with a proven track record of success in delivering a range of high level events.

This person needs to have a high level of financial acumen as well as possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills that will enable positive relationships to develop with third party suppliers and major organisations such as Deutsche Bank.

We will be looking for someone who is good team player and can work well within the current structure of 6 full-time employees within the charity.
