Being diagnosed with leukaemia can bring great trauma and stress to patient, family and friends. The consultant and his support team can provide the treatment and care but where can you turn for help in coping with the day to day problems created by your disease?

We, at Cure Leukaemia, would like to help and feel that the ideal way is to set up support groups. People who would like to be involved would be encouraged to meet on a regular basis for mutual support, information and friendship.
The format of the meetings would be entirely the decision of those involved

If you are interested in starting or being involved with a group please contact John Latham.

We will also aim to give information here on other groups or organisations which offer support of various kinds to leukaemia sufferers.

For any info on Support Groups, please ring us on

One such Support Group has already been set up in Birmingham.
The Haematology Support Group is organised by Sue Webb, one of our volunteers.
Sue organises meetings, with interesting and relevant speakers, and social events, and monitors info and links that may be of interest to the group.
Sue produces a Newsletter every two months, announcing meetings, reminding members about Cure Leukaemia Events, and listing contact information.
If you are interested in joining the group and receiving the Newsletter, please email Sue at  suewebb@trossie.wanadoo.co.uk

However, you can also download the current (February) edition of the Newsletter by clicking here
