The BBC WM Red Alert Appeal

In 2012 BBC WM chose to support Cure Leukaemia for its 'Red Alert Appeal' which raised funds and awareness for the charity. Not only did the appeal raise over £170,000 but it left a lasting lagacy which continues to this day.

A patient at the time Tony de Grey shared his battle with the disease with the listeners of BBC WM with a regular audio diary and touched thousands of people over the months of the appeal. Tony sadly lost his battle with the disease in 2013 but his memory still drives Cure Leukaemia forward to this day.Terry Goodwin, who works as a regional news editor at the BBC in Birmingham runs for Cure Leukaemia every year in Tony's memory and this year plans to take on the Birmingham International Marathon on October 15th.
